I turned 25 last month and strangely I share the same Bday as the boy and am only a few weeks away from Blondie’s Bday too! So we decided to ring in a quarter of a century in style and go have a long weekend in Paris… dragging our friend Nme along for the ride!
The eurostar really was not prepared for us but we were prepared for it as Blondie produced some bubbles and we started our holiday the way we meant to go on – slightly pissed and super hyper!
Blondie had organised the hotel (a very difficult task in the end) and it was in the most amazing location in Marais, surround by shops and bars – Heaven!
You can check out Hostellerie du Marais’s website here. The only thing I would say is bring your own mirror as the rooms don’t have vanity mirrors only one over the sink in the en-suite!
But Saturday we tried to grab some culture and see some of paris so after our coffee and croissants we headed down the west wing of the Louvre (detouring past Notre dame and lots of little boutique shops) to les arts decoratifs and their exhibition the History of Babar!
I geeked out it was amazing. They had original layouts, illustrations, toys, costumes they even showed clips of the old cartoon that we all used to watch!
We spent the weekend wandering around, enjoying the sights, really enjoying the food – which I will have to talk about in another post..!
